Equivalents (Parallel Lines) is an immersive two-channel video installation that explores 2½-dimensional space through vector-based graphics. The work is projected onto two large screens set at opposing 30-degree angles, forming a shallow, wide “V.” In plan view, the center seam recedes away from the viewer while the outer edges extend slightly forward, subtly destabilizing the projection plane.

Vector-based lines bounce between the two screens, colliding and generating waves of black-and-white patterns that appear to spill into and withdraw from the angled surface. As digital projection converts vector graphics into raster form, vibration and optical bleed produce afterimages, disrupting the viewer’s ability to perceive black and white lines—“equivalents”—in simultaneity.
